Behind the Scenes

Our coalition is funded through a grant from the Washington State Health Care Authority.

King County’s Department of Community and Human Services’ Behavioral Health and Recovery Division selected Auburn to be the recipient of the Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) grant provided by DBHR.

CPWI is a statewide effort to develop new or existing coalitions in the highest need communities to influence greater reductions in substance abuse. Communities who are picked for the funding are areas that have experienced high levels of underage drinking, crime, school drop-out, and unemployment. Auburn was chosen based on the need and our readiness to address the problem areas.
